Graphics Assistant

If you have experience working with graphics software such as Adobe, and you have a creative eye and talent for stimulating and fun visual design, then you may be interested in a part-time position at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library. We are seeking someone to help promote the library through attractive and effective graphics and displays. This will mostly involve designing posters and flyers to promote library resources and programs (possibly in multiple formats). The position is 10 hours per week. Starting salary for the position is $14.82 an hour.

Head of Human Resources

Our Head of Human Resources will need to work with other team members to enrich and bolster the most valuable asset within the library: our employees. If you enjoy working with and understanding individuals, while helping them to become their best selves, then we have an opportunity for you. The position will help assist with hiring, training, and maintaining our workforce, as well as our varied volunteer base. The position is 32 hrs/wk and may occasionally include after-hours work when emergency issues arise. Starting salary for the position is $22.14/hr. This position will include annual, sick and holiday benefits. Education and experience needed: Bachelor’s degree required; coursework, experience and/or certification in Human Resources preferred. Candidates must have a valid Indiana’s driver’s license, or the ability to attain one.

Page and Clerical Positions:

Applications for library page and clerical positions are accepted at all times, even when there are no openings, and are kept active for six months. An application may be filled out at any library location, or Apply Online.

Library Page: Part-time. Starting wage is $8.82 / hour. Days and hours of work vary. In most page positions, the primary responsibility is shelving books. Other duties might include shelf reading, locating materials, affixing labels on new materials, covering paperbacks, filing, and occasionally assisting patrons.

Library Clerk: Part-time. Starting wage is $10.90 / hour. Days and hours of work vary. Clerks perform tasks in many library departments. Duties range from processing new library materials, library card registration, collecting library fines and assisting patrons with checking out.

Pre-Employment Screening Requirements:

KHCPL has a vital interest in maintaining safe, legal and efficient working conditions for its employees and patrons.
